Many of these old songs and rhythms are still around today.
When Rich Conaty, who has since passed away, did the original program, it was on for 4 hours on Sunday nights from New York. Some nights I couldn't get it because of static, but now it is digitalized and clear on the internet.

I tuned into his shows over a number of years, and am pleased they’re still available in some form.
Also I’ve come across several of his shows in mp3 format on Internet Archive (archive.com), Cylinder and 78’s collection.
As I listen mostly to 1920s and 1930s material, this is a welcome resouce.

I subscribe to a music site called radiotunes.com. It has dozens of categories. One of them is “jazz classics” which is the older music ... Ella Fitzgerald, Sachmo, etc.
Often they’re recordings of live performances and the audiences’ reactions are those of adults. Many of the songs were performed during World War II. The quality of the recordings is surprisingly good. Some of the songs would be banned if certain groups listened to them.
Yes, they’re old but they’re just plain good, not vulgar and not psychodramas.

I first heard Rich Conaty doing the show on AM Radio in the 1990’s on WQEW 1560.
It will be interesting to see what bitrate they used for this.
I have a huge collection of music, and a lot of it is older stuff.
