The teenage mother from California who was left brain dead after being shot in the back of the head by a school safety officer will be taken off life support after her body is prepared for organ donation, her family have said.

Mona Rodriguez, who has a five-month-old son, was shot as she drove away from the scene where she had earlier gotten into a fight with a 15-year-old girl near Millikan High School in Long Beach on Monday.

Uhm, because they are attending the same school and had a set-to/strong disagreement earlier?

Some folks here seem to think that 18 year olds are completely automonous fully formed adults, but fifteen year olds are barely pubescent near infants.

There are 14-15 year olds that are vicious and big enough to kick your or my ass round the block. Hell, there are 12 year olds that are over 6 feet tall.

There is a LOT more to this story than we know, but either way, this “safety officer” needs to be tried for: reckless endangerment, negligent discharge, discharge of a firearm inside city limits, and at least 2nd degree murder.

Secondly, the "safety" officer was not in harms way. He walked up to the side of the car and then fired shots that COULD have hit other random people.
This was a meeting of two idiots.
