Excess vitamin d reduces vitamin k. Vitamin k is not needed to absorb vitamin d.
I think anyone who is taking any form of K supplements should first get tested for Factor V.
I had no idea I had Factor V until I got a clot in my leg and several in my lungs. I am lucky. No after effects other than being condemned to a life wearing pressure sock, blood thinner and monthly INR.
I asked my cardiologist why at my advanced age, after several episodes of AFib, no one had tested me for Factor V until things had gone so far off the track.
His answer: “We don’t ordinarily test people your age for Factor V because everyone your age that has it is already dead.”
So be careful with K2. Especially women who are on the pill and anyone with high blood pressure or other heart/blood issues.
No, I am not in the medical industry....just someone who has done a lot of thinking since my cardiologist made the point that I was supposed to be long ago dead.
