I heard a bit of audio on the radio - I believe it was Thursday - from the Afghanistan hearings.
In the audio a legislator - the tone dictates that it was likely a Republican - asked Gen. McKenzie if there was a word for leaving enemy territory under fire.
McKenzie replied that he did not know because he's never done it.
The unnamed legislator closed the audio of his time by stating, to the effect, "I think you just did."
I may have missed it. "May"...
Does anyone else know the segment I'm referring to and can you point me to a timestamp in a video?
I'm astonished that I can't even find the exchange even in a transcript...(maybe it hasn't yet been posted?)
"Is there a word for expelling a baby through one's vagina?"
McKenzie replied that he did not know because he's never done that.
Regards,
It was an astonishing exchange to say the least. I want to share it with others, more so since it’s so hard to find.
The legislator’s question and response seems rather cryptic and inconclusive as stated. Maybe there is some undisclosed jargon being communicated.
Jargon only another military officer would pick up on.
The assertion in the clip I heard was the word “surrender”.
I wish I could have recognized the voice of the legislator.
I’ll find it eventually, but I won’t have time to look now until next week.
I was hoping that someone else saw the exchange in a video of the hearing and could point me to it. I may have missed the exchange jumping through the long videos of the hearings.
I was thinking “retreat in disarray.”
With your tail between your legs.
In military lingo, RIDWYTBYL.
“Skedaddle” works too. :)
