I’ve been a fan of the dystopian novel since reading “The Stand” in the late 70’s. Its author, Stephen King has disappointed me because I never figured him as a derp, but he is. (I’m thinking it is due to his accident, but that’s another story, and not what I’m addressing)
The dystopian novel intrigued me because 1) the hero always rose above the current societal norms to throw off his chains ( farenheight 451) 2) the hero never took on the chains and chose fight (the stand) or, 3) the hero, after many travails and trials overcame whatever disaster befell them (one second after).
Or maybe, I was always intrigued by the dystopian novel because deep down, I knew I’d be living it.
Afraid of needles? Ok someone needs to make a video of tattooed people who saying that the vax is the one jab they won’t get.
Ha! I read that as "Merck's Covid pill HALTED after cutting hospitalizations by 50%". Can't have something out there that's actually good for people.
And the headline doesn’t mention that the drug cut DEATHS by 100%.

I always felt since early adolescence that some social/etc cataclysm would happen in my lifetime. I never watched horror movies or liked books about horror shows because reality was bad enough. (Had my own share of horror shows.)
