True but I'm guessing that law enforcement and those they'll trust in the search (maybe Dog, I don't know?) are operating on information and tips that the general public doesn't know.

With the technology available on drones, it is becoming increasingly hard for someone to hide in wilderness areas. Drones can search large areas and with low-light cameras, infra-red cameras, and thermal cameras can operate 24 hours a day.

I don’t know where he went, obviously. Was mostly being sarcastic. But when the media was reporting they were searching the area near his abandoned car I personally thought it was silly. I suppose they had to do it for CYA reasons. Maybe they would have found physical evidence he was there.

I do agree with you though. They are operating with non-public information. IR light and heat sensors and other technologies can work. But someone on the run should know that and not hide out in the wilderness. With 2 million people crossing the border northward in the last 9 months, how hard can it be to cross the border southward?
