As a part-time online gamer, I think this is referring to anti-cheat software that runs when you load games like War Thunder. There are hack programs for most games that allow the player to cheat by adding the ability to never miss, or have unlimited ammunition, or be able to see hidden players, etc.

Anti-cheat software is supposed to detect these cheat programs running on the PC and shut down the game.

It's a running battle between the cheat software and the anti-cheat software.

At least I think this is what the article is about.
