I contacted them a couple months ago and all they did was shuffle me off to a different department who in turn shuffled me off to another department who also shuffled me off to another department, all in one afternoon. All 3 departments told me different things about whether I still owed them money. So frustrating. I’m calling my local TA office next week instead of the 800 number.
I had to be vigilant, too. The first person I spoke to was the typical swamp creature, but the next lady I spoke to was extremely helpful. I saved her name and associate number in my cellphone and worked directly with her. It took almost a year, but we got all the fines waived.
