Brian Laundrie, who is being hunted in connection to girlfriend Gabby Petito’s death, is “well versed” in surviving long periods of time in the wild, a former co-worker told The Post.
Laundrie, 23, identified as a person of interest in Petito’s death during the couple’s cross-country trip, disappeared last week and is the subject of a massive manhunt at a 25,000-acre reserve near his Florida home.
But Laundrie could prove hard to find — he once bragged to co-workers that he survived on just crackers for six weeks while camping, the co-worker said.
“In conversation about hiking … Brian talked about the longest time that he spent in the woods was 6 weeks and bragged about only having a large pack of either cheese or peanut butter crackers to sustain him for that time,” the source told The Post in a text.
“He is well versed in spending a long time in the woods and living off nearly nothing,” they said.

Cute little raccoons with their spindly fingers. They are very smart and persistent critters.
Yes they are. Cute, clever and persistent.
Fish and Wildlife, includes Burmese Pythons legal in the Everglades and everywhere they are found, including Sarasota. Exotic pets let go in the wild— out at night killing dogs, cats and sometimes people— open season.

I’ve seen the traffic stop video. It’s like an hour long. I did not get the impression of a menacing or violent person, but he was “off.” I thought perhaps on the spectrum, maybe Asperger’s, but he did not come off as faking his personality or as evil, if my intuition is correct. Mental illness makes it make sense.
No doubt the FBI raid searched for BL’s camping equipment. Didn’t see them loading anything as large as the tent into the evidence truck.
Is he well versed at hiding from thermal imaging drones that can spot a rabbit in the forest?
Good points imho
The usefulness of thermal imaging drones has been discounted in this area at this time of year. The ambient air is too hot. Likewise, lots of critters in the swamp.
That kid is likely on the beach in Puerto Vallarta.
So he could kill other innocent people. They are truly despicable people.
Thx, and I guess just shouting out his name hoping for an answer won't work well either :)
I'm durned well-versed in hiding in my rabbit-footed jammies with a thermal blankie throwed over my head!
“Yeah, BS, unless he brought a net to capture fish with, or snare traps for rabbits, and materials to clean, prep, and cook these things with.”
And things wear out, and they break. Starts getting harder and harder, no matter how skilled you are.
Rewards have been popping up this afternoon.

BUT, if they were living off just crackers and cheese and vitamins for months, it will eventually eat away at your executive functioning...the human psyche needs to encounter a genuinely varied "meal" once every week, or the body will slip into that harsh starvation mode.
She said she was a nutritionist at a juice bar.
Yes but you just need a 2 inch knife to start and someway to keep it sharp. Potable water is the big problem drink the wrong water and you are too sick to do anything. If you have some idea of local plants and animals you are ahead. Can’t build a fire modern tech will find it. But in that place even dogs will have trouble finding you.
