To: proud American in Canada
"Also, An Affair to Remember."

That was another favorite of mine...and my sister's. I loved Deborah Kerr when she was in The King and I. I also liked "The Nun's Story" with Audrey Hepburn. The oldies and classic movies are the best entertainment, far better than most of the crap they make today.

You are so right. Hollywood today is so political; Mel Gibson took so much heat for making “The Passion of the Christ,” one of my favorite movies ever.

Hollywood was probably political way back when, but at least they had the good sense to hide it. As Michael Jordan once said, when asked why he never took a political position, “Both Democrats and Republicans buy shoes.” :)
