FakeNewsCollusion is evident on so many important issues; covid is no different.

BBC’s choice of “experts” is always questionable & their programs get broadcast around the world.
a recent example has two in particular at the start of the following program - Michael Worobey and Angela Rasmussen - and Rasmussen sums up their desired narrative at the end, from 38mins, which is - why waste money on investigating if covid-19’s origin was a “lab leak” when all resources should go into preparing for future pandemics:

The discussion about SARS-CoV-2 origins has become a toxic quagmire of false equivalence. Maybe you heard that evidence for lab leak has increased, but not for zoonotic origin?
That’s not true. Dr. @stgoldst & I argue the evidence still points to nature.

This is yet another game-changer in understanding origins of covid-19! https://bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-18/bats-in-laos-caves-harbor-closest-relatives-to-covid-19-virus

18 Sept: Bloomberg: Prognosis: Bats in Laos Caves Harbor Closest Relatives to Covid-19 Virus
By Jason Gale
Pasteur Institute scientists tested hundreds of horseshoe bats
Finding moves researchers closer to pinpointing Covid origins
The finding, reported in a paper released Friday that’s under consideration for publication by a Nature journal, shows that viruses closely related to SARS-CoV-2 exist in nature, including in several Rhinolophus, or horseshoe bat, species.
The research supports the hypothesis that the pandemic began from a spillover of a bat-borne virus...

None of the bat viruses isolated in Laos harbors a so-called furin cleavage site in the spike that facilitates cell entry. It’s a feature of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that has led some scientists to theorize that it was created in a laboratory.

No evidence supporting the lab-leak theory has emerged. Last month, the U.S. intelligence community ruled out the possibility that SARS-CoV-2 was developed by China as a biological weapon, but no consensus was reached on its origin.

The lack of furin cleavage may be explained by insufficient sampling in bats, or by acquisition of the furin cleavage site during chains of transmission in an alternate animal host, or during unreported circulation in humans in the early stages of the outbreak when the virus may have caused few symptoms, the authors said...

unlike Daszak, Prof Nikolai Petrovsky approached the Laos study with scientific skepticism:

VIDEO: 4m21s: 19 Sept: Sky News: Sharri Markson: Scientists trying to get their ‘side of story heard’ about origins of COVID-19
Flinders University’s Nikolai Petrovsky says he and other scientists “have been trying to get our side of the story heard” regarding the origins of COVID-19.

Professor Petrovsky, who is Director of Endocrinology at the University says an informal group of scientists around the world have been “really concerned about the narrative over the last 18 months with respect to the different possibilities for the origins of the virus”.
“Whether it might have been a natural transmission, whether it was a laboratory worker collecting samples in a bat cave … or whether it may have even been created in a laboratory.
“We thought were all reasonable hypotheses that had to be considered.

“And of course, we were very concerned when we only heard one side of the story and everyone else was labelled a conspiracy theorist.”

Sharri Markson’s documentary just aired on Sky Australia, coming down firmly on the side of the “lab leak” theory.
hopefully, it will be available online for everyone shortly.
