The south was slammed this summer. I think the north will be this winter.
I agree that the south was slammed. Not because I trust the numbers necessarily, but because all of 2020 and half of 2021, I knew very few that had covid, and I knew only one person personally who was hospitalized (on a vent, but recovered)
This last wave, I know 4 people who died, a couple who got pretty sick but weren’t hospitalized and dozens with mild symptoms.
Of those that died, 3 had the shot. One is unknown. All in their 50s-60s, all did have risk factors. Of the people I know for sure who didn’t get the shot - the worst was 2 weeks of flu symptoms. The majority said it was like a bad cold with headache.
That’s my firsthand experience here in GA. YMMV.
