Given his past attacks upon President Trump and his entering the fray on numerous other political issues, it's obvious that Francis is political. He says "don't go condeming" pro-aborts while doing the opposite with Cardinal Burke. Francis shows accompaniment to gays, German schismatic bishops, James Martin types, has given awards to pro-aborts, and shows mercy to adulterers (but not to Traditionalists) while he divides the church.
On the one hand he says abortion is murder but on the other he calls for bishops to be "pastoral" on the issue, use "God's style" and not be political. As with him doing nothing about the schismatic German bishops running wild on numerous matters, there will appear to be an ongoing official stance of the church on abortion but no public, total, complete enforcement of it pertaining to no Eucharistic host being allowed to be received by those who are pro-abort.
In the end, the same route is being taken as has been for decades in allowing Salsa masses, scantily-clad women gyrating at the front of Catholic churches during masses, allowing clown masses, rock and hip-hop music playing during masses, less than 50% of Catholics believing in the Real Presence, etc, and there would be Catholic churches allowing the host to be received by pro-aborts whereas other Catholic churches wouldn't.
And these progressive Vatican II types would persecute those who adhere to Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition (who call for the church to adhere to what it has always taught) while they put out the red carpet for those who willfully take themselves away from Jesus Christ and separate themselves from Him through willful mortal sin.

St. Paul wrote Sacred Scripture (2 Peter 3:16). In the following Sacred Scriptures St. Paul would argue to not let people receive the Eucharistic host unworthily, so if and when “pastors” (as Francis says) go by what St. Paul wrote, how could they be acting like politicians?
In 1 Cor. 6:9-10 St. Paul lists mortal sins:
[9] Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, [10] Nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God.
In 1 Cor. 11:27 one is admonished to not partake of the Eucharistic host unworthily.
1 Cor. 11:27 Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.
In Gal. 5:19-21 St. Paul lists other mortal sins but there is some overlap and thus all from 1 Cor 6 and Gal. 5 are mortal sins and one would partake unworthily in a state of mortal sin.
[19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are fornication, uncleanness, immodesty, luxury, [20] Idolatry, witchcrafts, enmities, contentions, emulations, wraths, quarrels, dissensions, sects, [21] Envies, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like. Of the which I foretell you, as I have foretold to you, that they who do such things shall not obtain the kingdom of God.
Murder is a mortal sin and abortion is murder.
No quarter. For baby killers.
