I saw Hughes with Deep Purple. He’s a badass. But I saw him with Trapeze twice before DP picked him up. The guy is an unbelievable bassist and vocalist. And nothing beats live.

Me too. Can’t believe he’s dead nine years already.

Only way a Purple reunion would have worked for me is if Lord was still around. Don Airey’s style I never liked.

Trapeze; that goes back a while. Their drummer was Dave Holland, who later went to Judas Priest; he had kind of an ignominious end.

Jon Lord and Frida of ABBA became good friends in Jon’s later years.

They actual performed together a few times. Here is Frida with Jon playing piano.

The Rock hall of fame is not musician friendly.. Check out steve millers take on his induction. He had to pay for everything, , they wouldn’t give him tickets for his family without having to cough up MORE dough. ( They gave him ONE TICKET) Its a complete rip off of the people in it. . Its obvious , the record industry vampires still suck the blood of artists.

Massive amounts of destruction taking place here beginning at around the 3:50 mark:

Deep Purple - The Infamous Ritchie Blackmore Incident At The 1974 California Jam

And if you watch these this interviews, Blackmore explains the events that led up to this historic event.

When I saw him in 2018, he was playing "the Deep Purple songs you won't hear live anymore" (basically from his era). His band was hot and he was outstanding as a frontman...not arrogant, but he had swagger.

But what really gripped me was how, unprovoked, he spoke humbly yet proudly of his gaining American citizenship. He wasn't bragging but (thankfully) he also didn't trash the nation or Trump or guns or anything. It was simply something that he considered important to share with the crowd, almost as a way of saying "I'm one of you guys now, thank you" in a very pleasant yet powerful way. And, to be truthful, we all cheered and "showed him some love back." I've never experienced that sort of thing at a rock concert...mega props to Glenn.

I would have loved to see Richie do one final show with Deep Purple, but that Bird Has Flown.

There is an Unwritten Law that Deep Purple banned Richie since he was Lazy and Not Responsible. He spent too much time Chasing Shadows looking for those Wasted Sunsets.
