We have a friend from college whose body was never found, to my knowledge. I used to look for him in crowds for quite some time. It’s been almost 40 years.
We got SO lucky my friend was found ..... we “knew” he was deceased, but not knowing where he was & what had happened ... it was torture. I can only imagine what it must be when it’s someone family/you love.
Michelle Malkins cousin disappeared in Seattle 10 years ago. They’ve never found her. There was a Indiana student, Lauren Spierer?, who disappeared after a night of drinking. Devastating for families to know they’re dead but to never know what happened or to bury their bodies is beyond heartbreaking.
One never knows. You might yet see a familiar face.

My cousin was grabbed from in front of her apartment, and murdered. Her remains were not identified for decades. She was found in a neighboring state, but was listed as a Jane Doe for YEARS. I can’t remember what lead them to finally figure it out, maybe DNA advances.
And her family was very vocal and involved, only her one sister was alive by the time things were figured out.
Of course they still do not know who killed her.
This was out west, California and Arizona, but I suppose it happens everywhere.
May these poor people rest in the arms of the Lord!
Had a friend in college just outside of St Cloud WY, he was never found either. Joshua Guimond was 20 at St Johns University, Great guy, had a heart of gold. Still had his innocence and humility as well as a great sense of humor and a laugh that brought smiles from all who heard him laughing.
