I had soaked the carbs in cleaner for a week and had just put them back in, but that's where I decided to take a shortcut and skipped putting in the cuffs to the air cleaner.

Don’t give up. Some of these older bikes get real good money today and they’re a lot of fun to ride. The Triumph at #63 I’ve been working on for nearly a year. And in about another week it’ll be ready for first start with a new top end.
