My first motorcycle (1983) was a 1972 Aermacchi Harley 350SS very similar to this one -- the Harleys that Harley would rather not talk about.
Single cylinder into two exhausts, 4 stroke (really!), busted electric starter, kick crank that would kick back like a mule!
Hidden behind that black triangular piece was a rather large riding mower battery.
Some exhaust port on the top midsection threw oil like a mofo. I deflected it downward with a piece of green garden hose.
Parts were getting increasingly hard to find for it by 1983, so I sold it off.
But man, I did love riding that bike. Loved its voluptuous red gas tank and the freedom that came with riding it!
Uh Oh...the “Bowling Ball Era”. :-)
My Sprint was primer red! Learned all (more than I ever wanted too) about helicoils from that basket of bolts. But I learned my lesson and managed to sell it, then after learning a valuable lesson, turned around and picked up a basket full of a Lambretta scooter, which I had for a dozen years; Complete with hack! Then small Ducati’s (160 & 260)... and other Euro and Nippon machines if various sizes.
But that HD Sprint, was a messed up.
