I’m still struggling with the fact that they took 5 months off just to drive around the country like they are retired.
I can see a month or so over the summer, but 5 months? Sheesh, what are we France? Are they getting unemployment checks?
I know it sounds crazy, but my daughter did the same thing with her boyfriend last fall, for 4-1/2 months. Because of CoVid they were able to work remotely. As soon as New York opened up, they fled. They did Air BnB rentals/ bartering during the week, and hiked/tent camped on the weekends, in the western half of the U.S.
They had so much fun, they did the same thing in June and July this year. They’ve been to a lot of National Parks and have many beautiful photos of the scenery.
These kids are 10+ years younger than my daughter and her boyfriend, so I have no idea how they financed this trip.
I read that her parents were ‘helping’ her when she needed it.
Her parents are footing the bill. I can’t see them making that much on their little blog.
I took five years off when I was their age.
I only wish I remember what happened during those years…
