I'm not surprised at the transition from PAs to Nurse Practitioners. While both are still growing, most of the growth is in FNPs. FNPs can open their own practice and write prescriptions without being under the thumb of a physician. More and more primary care will be provided by FNPs, while physicians will specialize more and leave the primary medicine field, which is one of the lowest paying for MDs
