“France and Australia are both socialist, France has elected communist admins in the past. Why do we feel compelled to deal with any of them?”

Guessing Australia is ditching plans to visit their nuclear-phobic neighbor, New Zealand...

Reason: “Australia’s 12 new attack-class submarines – Australia’s largest military acquisition in its history – were originally slated to cost between $40 billion and $50 billion. According to the latest projections they will now cost about $90 billion to build and $145 billion to maintain over their life cycle. Despite the fact former prime minister Tony Abbott promised the first of the submarines would be in the water by the mid-2020s, it is now not scheduled to become operational until the mid-2030s.”

It seems Australia thinks they might need a bit more range than diesel-electric can give.

Going nuke is not cheap in infrastructure.

What’s their change of mission? China.

“The Aussies should also start thinking about a nuclear weapons program while they’re at it. Red China is looking to gobble up the rest of the world and Australia sure as hell can’t count on Biden-type administrations anymore.”

ABSOLUTELY. And they need to understand how China views them...as a huge region to extract resources from - nothing more. If Australia ‘behaves’ (by Chinese standards), then Australians can mine their wealth and sell it to China, at whatever price China sees fit. If not, China will dispose of the Australians and send a few million of their own citizens to extract the wealth.

The world is different now...China has no need for uppity slaves, or any slaves, as they start moving out.
