I have a 3-legged cat seeks me out when I get home and claims my lap. She first showed up at my barn 14 years ago and pregnant. After she birthed her litter I noticed I hadn’t seen her around the barn for a few days and figured that’s the life of a barn cat.
Then one morning I was in the barn feeding and I heard a loud meow and looked over and there she was standing in the doorway with a compound fracture of her right rear leg. I scooped her up and took he to the vet and he amputated her leg.
She’s never been outside the house since and I figure she knows her dad will always protect her which is why my lap his her preferred domain.
