I guess you plan to writing a nice note to Xi in China asking him to give more liberty to his people....
You can’t ask evil to stop being evil.
The sociopaths will just laugh at you.

Hmm. One way to get students’ email addresses might be to get a student there to supply them.
If I wanted to and were willing to risk being fired, I could copy and past all work email address of all 2000 people where I work by just looking them up in the Outlook address book.
I bet students have a similar capability.

I don’t care if sociopaths laugh at me!
The public outnumbers the tyrants. Even Xi is worried now because he faces public unrest due to food shortages. The public can rise up and refuse tyranny so tyrants try to placate enough, and encroach slow enough to make people passive and think to themselves they are helpless, and it’s useless to resist.
Asking evil to stop being evil doesn’t work. TELLING THEM DOES. It’s how dictators lose power. Ghandi knew how to do this - resistance, halt support, don’t participate, voice disapproval...while you still can. Patriotism 101.

Now apparently it means dim bulb.
Hey, some of us left when the getting out was good, but still consider ourselves CT born and bred. There ARE good folks there still, just as there are plenty of JimRobs in CA . . . just not enough.

Regarding my comment about the music professors, I would start by sending an email inquiring about how music instruction has been impacted by the Covid restrictions.
Imply that you have a senior in high school who is interested in attending next year and you are worried how the program is being impacted.
I would be interested in what exactly the state of music, science, etc. programs are “on the ground” there.
I would also be interested in faculty responses to the idea that these sort of policies may be in place yet a year from now and the idea that parents are thinking along these lines and planning accordingly.

I lived in Hampton for a year, and used to go Salisbury for a Catholic conference. Which bookies are you in? The northwest hills, the east?

I remember Plymouth, CT went for Buchanan in the '92 primary. One of the times I went to "The Catholic Rendezvous" conference at the Ragamont Inn there was a nuclear freeze demonstration on the town green nearby in Salisbury. All aging former hippie types. We decided to have our own pro-life demonstration (we already had signs for another event). And after a few words, the nuke freeze folks packed up and went home. They didn't want to be associated with us.
