Not all. Bishop Strickland in Texas just came out this week against the vaccine. Cordileone in San Francisco isn’t afraid to speak the truth. I get it that liberal Catholic Universities are on board but what about Franciscan, Ave Maria or the University of Dallas?

The hierarchy may be all on board with this mandate but the rest of the clergy and religious not so much. I think there may be a real problem. I know my parish priest is not vaccinated and neither was his assistant. Our Diocese in the deep south is very short-handed when it comes to priests. We had two leave at the same time (probably not a coincidence) and it caused a real manpower problem. The church simply cannot afford to lose very many priests, especially over an issue like this as the ones who feel strongest about abortion are the ones doing the lions’s share of the work.
