The article I read, and I may have misread it, stated that until vials marked Comirnaty are in circulation existing vials of Pfizer-BioNTech are still only under the EUA.

“What doesn't make sense is that if this is approved don't the other EUAs have to go bye-bye like Moderna and JnJ and why didn't the FDA just approve the EUA and Comirnaty?”

I does make sense if the Comirnaty is not readily available yet, plus the government purchased millions of vials of the other vaccines. I actually suspect that Comirnaty is not available and as an approved drug will come with a Informed Consent form. I suspect the FDA approval was pushed so people think it is all safe and get vaccinated. Like my friend, great guy, but he has no idea which vax was approved, which has been discontinued in other countries, which causes blood clots, etc... the government said approved and that was good for him.

All that’s changed is a piece of sticky paper that gives a trademark name to an unbranded product. FDA rules say you can’t remove an original label or overlabel a product. So subsequent runs of the vaccine will have the updated label with a trade name nobody knows how to pronounce :)
