Not under current law. Montana has addressed that with a very clever use of civil rights law, with their HB 702. But that won’t help here.
The strategy seems to be to keep ratcheting up the costs of non-compliance until individuals are forced to choose between their principles and providing for their families. It’s not a good situation and there are no easy answers.
United employees who took the religious exemption were supposed to get a reasonable accommodation. UNPAID LEAVE IS NOT REASONABLE. THEY WILL GET SUED AND LOSE.
The easy answer is to let people who want the cv19vx take it, and those who don’t not take it. The legislatures can immunize businesses from cv19 lawsuits and ban mandates of any kind. Idiots who take the cv19vx while remaining obese, low in blood levels of vitD and eating poorly are going to die long before the rest of us regardless.
