Love my home grown acorn squash.

Slice in half turn upside down on a foil covered cookie sheet. Pour some water in. Steam at 400 for 25 minutes. Flip. Toss a pat of butter and a teaspoon of brown sugar for another 30.

Taste like heaven. Great with a roast chicken. 😋

Also good to roast the seeds like you would pumpkin.

All around yummy. Too expensive in the store.

I got a similar recipe from a neighbor - only to cook them straight up - use the brown sugar and butter and fill the rest of the cavity with sherry.

Husband says it keeps him from divorcing me.

Split in half, scrape out the seeds, in the centers put butter and brown sugar and a Pork Sausage Patty: bake at 400 for 1:15.
