Of course not. Until recently, the Revolution is basically ignored.

I recall the Hunley show. Then they found the boat.

There is another movie about a submarine in the war of 1812.

MUTINY(1952)
IMDB
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044936/

“During the War of 1812, in 1814 precisely, Silas Halsey lost his life whilst using a submarine in an unsuccessful attack on a British warship stationed in New London harbor. This is the only recorded use of one during that conflict.”

Locking nuts on the lid carrying giant ones inside. Imagine volunteering for that mission. Incredible courage.

When some observer first saw the CSS Virginia sink a Union sail ship, remarked that every navy in the world was now obsolete.

Probably the same thought when the German ME-262 first flew up to attack the B-17's.

The boys were intrigued with the sailors who were docents on the ship. Very cool young men.

From this time, all through the Industrial Revolution.....I can only imagine how exciting it was to be alive. Inventions everywhere.

Sam Colt was up in Hartford inventing and manufacturing his revolvers.

Eli Whitney worked on his cotton gin in the barn of the farm adjacent to ours; meanwhile next door, Uncle William was inventing the can opener; bow-facing oars; washing machines; Tang Sights.

To be a fly on the wall and overhear these great minds when they sat around and chatted. Gracious!

Franklin was very wealthy, wore flashy “frontier” and Quaker clothes, was a politically connected charmer and even published a newspaper in Paris — so what’s not to like?

Also, as an older man of letters, it’s not clear if any of his female relationships were anything other than platonic.

;-)

I started liking Simcoe. He’s as insane as he is badass. Had to laugh when he scalped the guy collecting scalps, and gave it back to him for his collection. And DAMN could be fight

LOL, that weird, snotty, high pitched English accent somehow made him even more terrifying! Good Evil character, and very well acted!

He did have a strange almost girly voice, but he plays a truly superb bad guy

You know they are good when they make a viewer, knowing it is a movie, begin to both fear their appearance and dread it when they do appear, even knowing it is just a fictional movie!

That is good film-making!
