I had a co-worker who had nine grandparents, due to his parents multiple marriages, so it was a bit interesting that he would ask for time off to attend a grand parent funeral and the boss would say, “This is your fifth funeral for grandparents.”

At a former job, a person in another department was from a very large city halfway across the country with a common last name.

This was the early 90s and state government so nothing was checked too closely.

That individual was out a lot due to bereavement.
