U.S. Army Lieutenant General Maria Gervais, who heads up the Army’s Training and Doctrine Command posted a photo Saturday of what she thought were U.S. troops leaving Afghanistan, but it turns out they were British troops later IDed as being with the 16th Air Assault Brigade. Getting that third star apparently doesn’t take much in today’s woke military.
Not noticing the British uniforms and weaponry (SA80s), Gervais tweeted Saturday morning, “This picture is worth 1000 words—thanks to these American hero’s. #Grateful”

18 minutes later Gervais acknowledged her error, “Absolutely correct— British troops— thankful to our British heroes and all who helped w/ this mission! Absolutely love the picture!!”

As one can imagine the comments by incredulous Americans were not so forgiving. This one by retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant Jesse Jane Duff says it best, “Yikes. A 3 star general at that. My Marines woulda’ submitted my retirement papers for me if I did that. Maybe that’s why the military left so many Americans behind – the generals didn’t recognize them.”

Several posters noted the misspelling of heroes which just added to the sense of incompetence, “Not sure what’s worse. That she used an apostrophe to spell “heroes” or that she can’t tell our guys from Brits.”

And why post this now? I’m suspicious she sees a possible opening in 4- star slots and wants to raise her visibility.
I've never, ever seen it work out well. Just sayin'. The comments I've seen from girl-grunts often point out that it's the high-echelon female officers pushing for females in combat. Not the ones who would have to get up-close and dirty themselves.

I got out of the AF in ‘92. Then spent time in the Army Nat’l Guard as a Fister. No way I would consider enlisting nowadays, and I am keeping my kids away from that rats nest as best I can.
Sadly, a lot of kids are going to get killed based on the wokery.
I would assume she’s “the man”.

This is such disgusting ignorance and incompetence its hard to see any humor in it. The thought of woke people like her running — and ruining — our military is truly frightening.

The ‘men’ in the Pentagon aren’t much better... They cut and ran from a stone age country... and left behind 85 billion dollars worth of weapons.
It’s time to re-imagine our military...
Not to sound racist, but if that was American flight, there would soldiers that would Hispanic, Asian and Black as well. Not just White Soldiers.
Nowhere near as masculine as Patton but my gut feeling is a total menace to newly arrived attractive enlisted females.
