It's a matter of what they've been taught.

"No one ever washes a rented car." This old cliché explains much of what is happening in both politics and society today.

The entire CRT/BLM/wokist sentiment in the country — epitomized by what is happening in a sizable majority of high school and college classrooms — highlights what is arguably the most dangerous issue currently facing America: we are raising — encouraging, even! — an entire generation of people who feel no ownership of, loyalty to, or obligation to the country in which they live.

The woke movement is the predominant force driving the social and political narrative these days. To begin with, the crazy, out-of-control wokist revisionist curriculum and history that both students and their parents have to deal with today would have been unimaginable just a short generation ago. Never in our collective history has such a sizable segment of the population espoused such self-loathing, anti-American thoughts as today's misguided woke Progressives. The irony of their unrecognized privilege that allows them the freedom to criticize the society they live in from a safe and comfortable vantage point is too obvious to bother pointing out.

The professor announced to the students, "I will not accept anything on your papers from news sources that I consider biased, unreliable, or based on opinion instead of verifiable fact. Nothing citing Fox News, Newsmax or the N.Y. Post is acceptable. For current news sources, only the N.Y. Times, Washington Post, MSNBC, and CNN will be considered as trustworthy and credible." These are sources that are solidly in favor of CRT, the 1619 Project, and BLM.

The public education system bears part of the blame but it is my opinion that the main reason is that there is no fear of God.

Likewise, according to the new woke doctrine, World War One and World War Two were fought mainly by white people for the benefit of other white people, but non-white people remained persecuted and exploited, their lot in life unimproved by these so-called "victories."

IF, and I mean a huge IF, the US were the racist country the Left alledges we are, we'd sided with GB and Germany during WW2 and established a permanent white majority running the world.

I know I'm not supposed to hate anyone and yet here I am, refusing to even acknowledge the existence of anyone I used to know that voted for Biden.

Any time I'm at an event where known Biden voters are present and they approach me, I simply turn my back to them without saying a word. It's very effective. When others see me do it they ask what I have against (insert Biden voter's name here.) My response is simple: I'm holding them accountable for their vote and the resulting shit-show that's going on in this country right now which has made America the laughing stock of the world. I then say the blood of thirteen of America's best and brightest are on their hands, I consider them accomplices to murder and I want nothing to do with them.

Some of my friends who've also voted Trump in 2016 & 2020 have taken similar positions. We will congregate together at social events and ignore the Biden voters together. Isolating people like that is pretty powerful. I hope they feel like sh*t.

My buddy once changed the oil on his rented car, because he put so many miles on it. That didn’t go over too well with the rental company (out of their normalcy zone), but it did reflect the values we grew up with, where cars (and similar objects) were treated humanely and we didn’t want to see them suffer either.

Like it or not, our side punted on this, and left the door WIDE OPEN for the hippies of the Baby Boom generation to walk-in and destroy our kids.

...and when I tried to point that out, even to conservatives, they considered me the nutcase. So I gave up - I made sure my kids never stepped foot in a public school, but that’s about it.

And now it’s too late. In the past, we could hold off the radicals by not letting them control the curriculum, but now the radicals are in the classroom, and so changing the curriculum means nothing to them, once that door closes and class is in session (they just ‘teach’ what they want and ignore what they’re told to teach*). The only option that will work are CAMERAS in the classrooms (combined with a decent curriculum, of course), and I have yet to see any serious attempt at that.

*ever wonder why we never hear of the infamous Texas Textbook Wars anymore - that’s why, they pull up their own subject material.

Very true, I saw the private schools my kids attended decay before my eyes...and yes, they required that ‘Education’ Degree from their teachers, or they risked losing accreditation - and that was for CHRISTIAN schools, too. And not just teachers, but curriculum standards had to be met.

That’s how the Left took over Private schools - they took over the accreditation process. BRILLIANT, on their part, they never even had to step into a single private school, yet they controlled them all, and with very, very, few people.

To have faith in God, and that He exists facilitates two important things on this earth in this American experiment, both are opposite sides of the same coin:

• On one side of that coin, faith in God validates the concept of Natural Law, the understanding that our fundamental rights such as Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness, are granted to us by God, not by Man. If we believe this, only God can truly take them away.
  
  
• On the obverse side of that coin, if one does not believe in God, then there is no Natural Law. Our fundamental rights are granted to us by men, and as such, can be truly taken away by other men.

No rational person would dispute that while atheism and rejection of God is not the sole province of the Left, it is indeed a fundamental core belief of the Left, which in the communist vision as outlined by Whittaker Chambers:

No, I don't wonder at all. The communists flooded America with agents of the Soviet Union to destroy us from within. One of the things they seized was our public school system. They then weaponized public schools to brainwash future generations.

It didn't take long, about 50 years? But public schools are anti Christ, anti patriot, anti American.

Add to that the nefarious and ungodly influence of hollyweird and modern music, and we've got a trifecta.

No, I don't wonder about the Implosion of America. I'm living it.

Your post describes many of us. I even have a family member that, while I don’t hate him, he is blood, I have no desire to interact with him.

I am not burning any bridges. I just don’t want to associate with him.

He sent me an email (accidentally, I am pretty sure) back just after the 2016 election in which my email address was one of dozens, and it was one of those emails imploring people to organize in “The Resistance” against Trump.

My brother is one of three things: an uneducated, lazy fool, a dedicated useful idiot, or a total and complete Leftist.

Of all those, I don’t think he is an uneducated, lazy fool, and I don’t think he is a total and complete Leftist.

I think he is a dedicated useful idiot, and that fills me with great sadness.

I agree with this. Somewhere along the way, it became fashionable for Republicans to denigrate public-school teachers, and people who worked for the government in general, the implication being that if you did work for the government, you were a loser and a leech. If you were conservative and expressed an interest in teaching or academia or working for the government, people looked at you like you had three heads. Fast forward 20 or 30 years, and we are shocked that our schools and our state and local government agencies are all staffed by people that hate us! We made a huge mistake.

I share your position. I love my siblings but find myself wanting comfortable distance from them.

One of my brothers, and two of my sisters are left wing. They are educated, and professional, which you would think is a contradiction, but it isn’t.
They are atheist and one is into witchcraft. The spiritual aspect seems consistent.

So in my case, again like yours, they are not uneducated, or lazy. I also don’t think they consciously agree with precepts and history of communism, although that is what it is.

They all do fall under the definition of what Lenin called “the useful idiot”. They don’t believe in Critical Thinking, but are motivated by Peer Pressure as I see. So in a way they are intellectually LAZY, which results in their conscious decision to not educate themselves, so in a way they are UNEDUCATED.

I have a over reaching theory though. I think being uneducated and lazy and a useful idiot motivated by peer pressure is a result of being spiritually weak, and incapable of recognizing or confronting evil on any level.

I don’t know how I got through the years when other people’s views influenced my own, but I suspect it is my spirituality and critical thinking.
