VGP – Russian Deputy Minister of Defense Alexey Yurievich Krivoruchko announced that his country will donate additional 20 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to Viet Nam this year.
Krivoruchko, who is in Viet Nam to attend the closing ceremony of the International Army Games 2021, made the announcement at his meeting with Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang in Ha Noi on September 4.

BS. Russian crap is being thrown out all over S. America. The Gulf states and even the Philippines.
I actually wanted to get the Russian vaccine, but ended up getting Astra Zeneca just because it was available.
It is sort of shocking how little foreign assistance Vietnam is receiving, lowest vaccination rate anywhere I think.
Less than 3% so far.

Almost nobody is selling.
He seems okay. He is obese and has high blood pressure and chose it.

That is 3% completely vaccinated so far.
The percentage of people partially vaccinated, is higher, but still quite low.
Most of the vaccinations have occurred around (Saigon) thus far, and surrounding towns. Saigon has now been closed for nearly two months.
Why should the US help a commie country?
Vietnam has formal relations with America.
The war was a long, long time ago.
We should make more here (Vietnam) and stop making everything in the (PR) of China.
Vietnam is small compared with America, including the population here. They also like Americans. They don’t threaten anyone, and don’t have nukes.
China is massive. And increasingly acting like they are an enemy..
We are importing, from the wrong place.
It’s still a commie dictatorship. Let’s not make the same mistake as with China. “Trade and normalizing relations will bring them into the democratic world.” Plenty of other surrounding countries.
It is not a good thing. With more vaccines available the government will begin to require all to take it. Regardless of the breathless accounts from Hà Nội, the Vũ Hàn virus is not such a big deal in Việt Nam, especially since Vietnamese women have been speedily adopting western dress fashions and exposing arms and legs to sunlight. Vitamin D is an effective antidote and preventative for this virus. My correspondents tell me that it seems to be a disease to which women who dress traditionally all covered up when outside in the sunshine and people who work in offices all day i.e. bureaucrats in the main are the ones afflicted. My friends and their relatives and their friends and relatives all know about sunshine. None have been afflicted.
The lower the vax rate in Việt Nam the better the health of the population.
I go to Việt Nam often on three month visas. I would be there right now except he borders are closed. I can’t get out of the USA without a vax and I can’t get in to Việt Nam in a way I can afford because that border is closed and the airplanes don’t fly there now. I could go to the Caribbean and get a plane to Phnomh Penn and a bus to the border and thence get across legit but it would all cost way more than my situation allows.
