Does anyone know which Five Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the amendment in the Defense budget requiring women 18 years to 25 years to register for Selective Service?
That comparison doesn't make sense. If we were to fight a war as large as WW II right now we could end it before it really got started by doing what we did to Japan.
Our air and missile launched resources could demolish any country that even tried to fight with us.
They're right. Ever since Obama became President, I would had voted "yes" on women to register for Selective Service.
I have no problem requiring women to register for the draft. In war time, there are many jobs that are essention that do not require service in the front lines or in combat roles.
Our four daughters have never been alone in a vehicle with any man who was not their husbands or their father. They will never be in a Hum-V, for example, with men to whom they are not married.
While I believe you are correct, I would like to see some kind of stratification where if you received a Pell grant, or some kind of student loan assistance, your name is in the first “set” to be drafted.

They should just abolish the whole friggen department. We haven’t needed a draft since the Vietnam war and it was arguable we didn’t need it then.
I did my duty and went down to the post office to register back in 1980 when it first was re-instated. 15 years later I was trying to get federal loans and was told I never registered. Bullshiite. I said, no problem, I’ll just sign up again, I don’t mind. They said I was TOO OLD to register.
I worked with senator Dianne Feinstein to get this ridiculous fuqqing law changed, to no avail.
If ever there was a bureaucracy that deserved to be dust, it was this one.

Something you are not seeing. Millions of American young women are raised in the Biblical Christian tradition and under that teaching and doctrine. They believe in the HOME, and being in it. They believe in using their most productive child-bearing years for . . . bearing children. They believe, like we do that this is the CORE that our military is defending, and this should not be diminished or destroyed by government forcing them out of their homes.
It is not a question of what women should do in the military. Actually, the purpose for Selective Service is to provide COMBAT troops. And with people like Austin and Milley, women will be COMBAT troops.
And even on this thread, there are Freepers, we suppose professing to be "conservative" in favor of women serving in combat.

So thugs will be offered citizenship (that these pigs don't have the right of offer) in exchange for the people without attachment to Americans. This technique has been used in every commie hellhole when 'leaders' want people to shoot citizens... even used in Iran and other totalitarian hellholes that aren't commie...
