Actually it's complete BS propaganda from our loving media overlords. I've read at least five posts from FReeper ranchers in the last two days, including one on this thread who lives in Oklahoma, that there is no shortage in their farm and ranch stores at all.
I'll believe them before I believe a simultaneous onslaught of articles from the media.

I saw a warning label on some to treat horses saying that animals treated with ivermectin are not suitable for human consumption. Next they will be saying it is radioactive. Yikes!
