1565 deaths in the US yesterday ostensibly to COVID. People can indeed wave their hands over their heads and say many deaths are mis-attributed to COVID, but the problem is that 1565 number is much higher than just 6 weeks ago. It’s a surge. One would think misattribution now and then (6 wks back) would be equivalent. 1565 might not be correct but it being sharply higher than 6 weeks ago is very likely correct. Surge.
The surge is via Delta. Last I heard something like 70% of cases are now Delta. Most death surge was in August. We’ll soon start to hear numbers for vaccinated deaths to Delta in August.
