THINK ABOUT THIS:

The annual cost savings of supporting just those seniors living in nursing homes who died due to COVID-19 in 2020 is approximately $12 billion, given that 8% of the 1.4 million living in long-term care facilities died of the disease, according to official numbers — which may be too low, as they certainly appear to be in New York. Though it may sound insensitive to say so, many young people have been spared time and expense caring for the old.

Plus, with 400,000 more beneficiary deaths in 2020 than in 2019, and many thousands more in 2021 as well, Social Security will be paying out in excess of $6.4 billion less in future years than it would otherwise have done, as will other annuity payors. This is a drop in the bucket of federal spending, and no decent person would wish to see anyone suffer and die, but from a fiscal perspective, fewer recipients mean less burden on the system.

I hate that kind of math, but it is reality.

It would be if they learned how to aim.

Yes, but fewer workers resulted in a lot less SS/FICA take last year. Audit report pulled SS insolvency one year sooner this week.

Chicongo...ROTFL! I've visited the Democratic Republic of Congo (briefly) and Chicago (briefly) and there are some curious similarities.

“many young people have been spared time and expense caring for the old.”

Bullshit brainwashing. If we do not pay back our edlers because we are selfish, Then we are not a moral society at all.

Something to say for many other cultures around the world. Especially Asians. And even the heathen Native Americans are better than that with respect of the elders they owe back.

So many selfishly do not want to have any inconvenience to their personal lifestyle. It is a sin... An absolute sin.

Very little in common but I’m sure someone thinks so.
Black Death was more like “Sweating Sickness” of the 1400’s.

Death rate from Covid about .0003% of total populations. Has a survival rate between 97 and 99%.

Death rate from Black Death somewhere between 30 to 60%.

Author wanted so desperately to use the analogy to the Black Death that they abandon all rational thought to try and make it.

They failed....badly.
