I highly recommend this three part series. Its historical fiction, but I like to think its more realistic than any other Arthurian tale I've read.

And its in keeping with the Welsh theory. In it, the Britons fought the encroaching/invading Saxons and were eventually pushed back into Wales.

Where I believe they are still today. The last of the Britons.

Jack Whyte wrote a series of Arthurian fiction. About the fall of the Romans in Briton and the making of a new order/civilization... leading to Arthur.

Thank you. I have perhaps thirty books by Bernard Cornwell but didn’t know about this trilogy.
