Officials said early indications were there was a mechanical failure when the plane took off from Robertson Airport, feet from where the plane went down and hit the Trumpf Inc. building.

The runway for Robertson Airport, a small private airfield, sits about 1,500 feet from where the plane had crashed.

OK I should have said buried in the treads of the post, not the story.

Weather related? Probably rather gusty west to northwest winds and a fast change in wind direction above the surface, not wind shear per se but difficult flying conditions for a small plane in a generally hilly sort of region.
