Just a hunch but I suspect there are millions of people who do not use the internet and have absolutely no desire to do so. Obviously I am not one of them, but on the other hand, I often think that I would be much better off in many ways if I tossed my PC in the burn barrel and never went online again!

Simply to impress upon him and others of his ilk that in America today there are two distinct classes of people, rulers and serfs. And the judge wanted this victim and everyone else to know that HE is one of the exalted rulers and this poor guy is just one of the lowly serfs.
