Just don’t waste yer money on the T-Detect test.

Why do you say this? I was just about to waste my money on a T-Detect test because antibody tests I've taken show Covid antibodies "not detected" and I am hoping the T cell check will detect something. What was your experience with T-Detect?

Funny you should ask that. I tried to post yesterday but apparently one of the mods has a burr up their backside about my prior posts and deleted it 3x in a row over the course of hours, finally giving me a BS answer (in a nutshell, it has a word, starts with c).

Below is what >$250 bought me; judge for yourself.

Your result
T-Detect COVID: Negative
Results were inconsistent with recent or prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the sample assessed. A negative result does not preclude acute SARS-CoV-2 infection.*

A T-cell response is typically detectable in blood several days after initial infection. The duration of this response post-infection and the implication for immunity is currently unknown (Tay MZ, et al. Nat Immunol Rev. 2020;20(6):363-374).

*False positive and false negative results may occur for reasons including, but not limited to technical, laboratory processing and/or biological factors (e.g. number of T-cells assessed).
T-DETECT COVID
The T-Detect COVID test can determine whether you’ve had an immune response to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. If the test shows you’ve had an immune response, it means you likely had COVID-19 in the past. This test cannot tell you whether you have a current COVID-19 infection.

NEXT STEPS
● Due to the lack of evidence to support protective immunity, if you are exposed, monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. If you develop severe or concerning symptoms, seek medical attention right away.
● Be sure to continue to follow federal, state, and local government guidance regarding social distancing and COVID-19 safety precautions.
● Share these results with your healthcare provider, who can answer any questions you may have about your specific situation.
● If you have questions about this test or your results, you can contact the PWNHealth Care Coordination Team at 315-401-7865, 8am to 11pm Eastern Time, or email us at covid19@pwnhealth.com. You can also leave a message after hours and a PWNHealth team member will call you back as soon as possible.
FDA DISCLAIMERS
T-DetectTM COVID test is not FDA cleared or approved. This test is only for in vitro diagnostic use under the FDA Emergency Use Authorization. This test is for prescription use only.

The T-Detect COVID test can detect an immune response to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease, to assess recent or prior infection. It is not intended for the diagnosis of active/current SARS-CoV-2 infection.

This test has not been FDA cleared or approved; this test has been authorized by FDA under an EUA for use by laboratories certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA), 42 U.S.C. 263a, that meet requirements to perform moderate or high complexity tests.

This test is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of the emergency use of in vitro diagnostic tests for detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb- 3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner.

T-DetectTM COVID is not indicated for use in patients under age 18
