I lived in San Jose as a child from 76-85.
It was an awesome place to be a kid.

For me it was Long Beach in the 50s. After a winter storm with clean air you could see that SoCal was surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The snow didn’t come to you, you went to the snow. As you say, a great place to be a kid—back then.

We moved from San Jose to New Jersey in the Summer.
We got off the plane and I asked, what is this?
Mom said humidity.
Not a good first impression...
