In our region, we can get anyone in over 18 without any hoopla. As it is an outpatient procedure — it is unclear why a physician would need admitting privileges for anything. Again, in our region any hospital will take our orders regardless. It sounds like you live in a difficult state — and this is the problem, this should be easy and immediate.
It isn't.
I followed the story of "terart" here and thought it was heartbreaking, but an isolated case.
Then I started making some calls for information. Clinics in this State have a minefield of procedures which can delay access to your recommended treatment until it is too late. It seems to be the clinics imposing these procedures, rather than the State, but I am not entirely sure.
You can get access, but there is very little room for procedural mistakes. You must understand the roadmap before you start. And it is far better to make arrangements before you need them.
