An addendum, since when is Gainesville “North Florida”? Then again this is ABC/Disney!
If you divided the state into four segments north to south (not including the Keys), it looks to me like Gainesville would be in the northernmost slice close to the border of the next slice.
It's definitely not central Florida or south Florida. It's only a 90 min. drive to the Georgia border.
It's north Florida as far as I'd describe it.
