Air conditioning actually makes people unhealthy and reduces the effectiveness of their immune systems.

I have it on as seldom as possible. Even on the hottest days, I'm to be found out on my porch in the humid, sultry air reading a book and sipping on iced tea. I especially like it towards evening when the fireflies, crickets and tree frogs come out.

That’s easy to do in Connecticut or here in Cleveland were I live. It is the rarest of years that we get more than a handful of 90 deg days. In Houston the average temperature for several months is over 90 deg. It’s always 99 deg & 99% humidity there.
