There is a long-standing rule in our family that no one should go into a hospital alone. Because of COVID rules, both of my parents went into hospital alone. Dad came out as an unconscious hospice patient, due to poor management of sodium levels resulting in brain injury. Mom came out dead, officially due to COVID (but not treated with anything we know works).

I am so sorry for your loss and the way your mom died and the way your dad was treated. Horrible.
We have the same rule, after what happened to my son with his surgery.
Well, this was the day after 9/11. Our surgeon was top notch, but the nurses on his ward were not the best. And one of my friends from college was the head nurse there. She said.. “We have some lulus right now, treat him like he has the flu and you can go home.” That’s when I got the soup, crackers, and soda.

I’m so sorry to read about the loss of both your parents, my condolences to you. So many times I’ve said to myself that I’m glad my Mom passed in March of 2019, before all this covid crap started. Then I feel badly for thinking such a thing. She was just a few months shy of 102.
