The Kennedy family was an organized crime family.
Joe was the master at public relations.
He created the Kennedy myth.
The guy was amazing—supported the other side during WWII and kept his PR image unscathed.
That is raw genius.
I find it interesting that the same people who deride Trump’s extracurriculars - most of which occurred when single, just sweep Kennedy’s extensive extramarital affairs under the rug, if they don’t outright admire him for them.
My Irish cousins used to say that the Irish were the ugliest people in Europe.

And they do the same with Clinton’s extra curricular activities.
I think we know the answer. The answer is that Trump is an evil Republican, Trump is Hitler, Trump is evil, the whole 9 yards. Whereas JFK and Clinton were both Democrats.
All of these supposed lovers all claim they and JFK were madly in love with each other and they are fools to believe that he loved them. Sounds like he was more of a womanizer more than he was anything else.

JFK may not have been as bad a Dem as modern ones but he was no saint at all.
I think he is lionized mostly due to Martyr Syndrome. I see this so much in history, including non-human. Have someone die or worse, be murdered and suddenly they are unforgettable and often a saint.
I was highly gratified some 20 years ago to see a feature in American History mag wherein they had overrated and underrated.
The big thing was Kennedy was overrated. I mean, how does this guy honestly keep hitting the top 10 much less top 5 of presidencies?

I think Ted was evil. Not Hitler evil, but he certainly seemed to hate the America he grew up in.
Not sure about Bobby as I don’t know enough about him. But he seemed like a zealot and the zeal with which he pursed the Mafia probably helped to get JFK killed (though I doubt that was Bobby’s intent).
Probably the best Kennedy was Joe and he died in WWII.

It’s interesting that Amazon displayed the front book cover image upside down. They probably think they’re showing disrespect to the book and author. However it’s also symbolic of how the book turns the JFK myth upside down.
I think you could be right. It’s another example of Martyr Syndrome, to me. Perhaps the best example.

Politically, Kennedy was a rock star; I’ll bet he made Bubba look like a piker in comparison. Maybe not every women would sleep with him, but a lot would (married or not).
When it comes to mistresses, I’ll wager the main thing is probably not looks (although ugly women need not apply). Rather, is to allow yourself to be at the man’s beck & call, without almost no regard for your own dignity.
