Fox News Channel, bolstered by viewers’ rapt attention to the U.S.-led evacuation from Afghanistan, was last week’s most-watched TV outlet on broadcast or cable, according to Nielsen company figures out Tuesday.
The channel averaged just under 3 million viewers. Fox News Channel outpaced both its cable news competition and the broadcast networks that typically jockey for the top spot.
The channel, which is popular with conservative-leaning viewers, surged following the Taliban’s sudden conquest of Afghanistan this month and as the Biden administration directed the chaotic removal of U.S. citizens and Afghans at risk after the nearly 20-year war’s end. …

It’s still cable tv news to me.
When AP is basically shilling for Faux News, the ten-year-old “course correction” has achieved its intended level of damage.
Dang it people don’t go back over there. Don’t forget what they did election night.
Lots of liberals watch, but won’t admit it. Was the case 20 years ago too.
Look at AP plugging Fox news.
Then they weren't the "most watched." Bannon's Warroom averages more than 80 million world wide.
Probably Nielsen doesn’t bother to research such numbers.
The CNN coverage early on was better than Fox...They had reporters there....Now only at the airport.....
If there COVID coverage comes up were all going to die...where do they find the doctors who say kids have to wear masks...
Schools are masking because the parents think there kids are going to die
In Florida ten kids under seventeen have died since March 2020
When the government is the employer, the employee says what the employer wants them to say.
… where do they find the doctors who say kids have to wear masks …
Fox News has been the number 1 cable network since February - not just news, but all of cable. Fox News had a temporary drop in viewers, but quickly gained them back. Frankly, boycotts don’t work. Its 11 pm ET show, Greg Gutfeld, beats the 3 networks late night shows.
No, it doesn’t. That’s the number who have downloaded the podcast. I’ve downloaded it on three different devices, but don’t/can’t listen everyday. Listen more carefully - Bannon says downloaded, which is not the same as listeners. He probably gets a fraction of those who have downloaded the podcast.
That same logic can apply to Fox. Just because I have it in my cable package (I do) doesn't mean I watch it (I don't.)
And, even if you are talking "fractions" then 3 million is a very small fraction of 6 million.
I meant to say 86 million.
What a silly post. Bannon has never said how many actually listen. There is a 3rd party that actually monitors how many view TV shows and the number is made public by the 3rd party. Even if it annoys you, reality is Fox News is the number 1 table network, not just in news, but in all of cable and it’s not even close.
No, I think yours is the silliest post. If someone is going to the trouble of DLing a podcast, then they are likely live streaming it as it downloads.
You have zero proof - zero. Boycotts don’t work. Fox is number 1 whether you like it or not.
I have as much or more than you do. Fox News has turned into CNN. The only reason they have high ratings is because they are part of cable and satellite major packages. But, since CNN has lost the airports, they are plummeting. As soon as cable and satellite carriers start dumping Fox out of their big packages, the same will happen to them. Dish already took Fox out of their basic package.
There, fixed it.
