Plus being in Alaska there aren’t many options for the patient given her health issues. She can’t just hop on a plane to the lower 48 to a new physician that specializes in her health issues. Communist Seattle is the closest big city by plane. So the physician really did it to her. May be she can find an attorney in Alaska or even the lower 48 to help go after the physician because IMO the physician-patient relationship has been destroyed by the physician.

Yes, I realize that, all the more reason I’m really shocked. But where the doctor can fire her is for “not following her suggestions.” I had a doc pull that on me once. “I can fire you, you know.” Yeah I said, but you won’t.
And I agree the physician-patient relationship has been destroyed. Totally destroyed. What happened to choice?
I’ve noticed doctors, at least the few I’ve seen over the past couple of years have changed. Bad attitudes. When I broke my arm, for instance, I got the crankiest PA. Interesting, a friend also broke her arm, same insurance, she got the same PA and remarked how awful this PA was. In San Diego county. And we both got the same PA.
