Our Mistaken Ideas About Human Rights Failed Us in Afghanistan
Human rights are not a government, theyâre a culture.
America was founded on that simple premise. The Declaration of Independenceâs conviction in the equality of men, individual rights, and governments gaining their authority from the consent of the governed was based on âself-evidentâ truths.
These truths are âself-evidentâ to Americans in the way that theyâre not self-evident to the average Afghan, Pakistani, Iraqi, Russian, South African or Chinese citizen. They have their own truths that are equally âself-evidentâ to them based on their own worldview and culture.
The Taliban, like the vast majority of Muslims, assert that believers in Allah are superior to infidels, that men must have supreme authority over women, and leaders over people.
This hierarchical model governs a lot more of the world than anything weâve come up with.
...The problem with exporting our âself-evidentâ ideas is that theyâre based on the belief in a loving and merciful God, on the value of individual life, and the genius of individual innovation. Most of the worldâs cultures are not only not individualistic, many, like the Peopleâs Republic of China or the Muslim world, are actively anti-individualistic and believe morality comes from hierarchy.
...America can and should export human rights. But the best way to do it is by example.
Whether itâs parents influencing children, teachers acting as role models, or any other mentor relationship, the most vital lessons are not didactic, but personal. From our earliest years, we learn by imitation and we become like the people we want to be. Indeed, in both Judaism and Christianity, goodness comes from striving to learn from and imitate the ways of God.
Tellingly, the concept plays out very differently in Islam where Muslims imitate Mohammed.
...Above all else, we should show that our values lead to a good life. The example that we set for the rest of the world will do more to spread human rights than any military interventions.
Thatâs how it always was.
...If we want to defeat Islamism and protect human rights and freedom, we should start at home.
Itâs not just Afghanistan where young girls are being enslaved or sexually abused by Islamists.
In 2019, I reported that there had been over 2,000 visas approved for underage ‘brides’ from Muslim countries. Two years before that I reported on a female genital mutilation network in Michigan. There have been multiple cases of slavery involving Muslim families in America.
The massive influx of Afghans into America will make those numbers worse, not better.
The fundamental lesson of our founding is that we canât defend our rights without also defending our culture. The self-evident truths on which our freedoms were founded are no longer all that self-evident on a college campus, let alone in Islamist enclaves like Dearborn or Little Mogadishu. If we want to save our rights, weâll have to defeat the Taliban at home.
Thanks for posting the videos thinden. You've been a big help.
Non-Union. TVA is the most non-government government entity out there. Open shop, and no union in my position anyway.
But the local electricians and linemen - well, probably 60% are IBEW. I suspect that there’ll be some action.
I’m playing it by ear for now. And providing I don’t get called in to work this week, I’m on vacation the week after and won’t be coming back until Sept 9th for the night shift.
.
And I spelled “comirnaty” wrong... sheesh.
Hahahaha

Donât be put off by the woman who looks like a man. I think she really is just a woman who looks like a man. Sheâs pretty cool and smart, though.

I can’t stop staring at its hands. They seem awfully big.
I read somewhere that even the CDC says not to get the shot if you have autoimmune issues. But of course now it says something different on their website.
I’m wondering if she can sue her doctor for lack of treatment or something. This is so awful, I am really speechless. (sort of)

One of the core aspects of being an anon is questioning everything. Sheep trust the mainstream media and lack the drive to research because of their comatose state. Because anons insatiable thirst for “becoming the news now” we have been ideally suited to see through the plandemic scam, exposing it every step of the way. Unfortunately we have also been susceptible to mental suffering due to the knowledge we possess on the dangerous times that we live in.
Being an anon is both a curse and a blessing but I’d choose being awake over asleep every single time and I find no reason to regret carrying the burden that we bear.

Please add me too! TIA
"Come, you're naughty!!" Said following: "Sure you are only 8 years old?? I thought you were at least 17! Sniff sniff! No? Come, you're naughty!!"
I think we should call it Comorbidity in honor of those that took the Jab and died.
My GP so far doesn’t require masks nor vaccines, but he orders the covid antibody test when one has to have blood work done. He’s a rebel of sorts, is not affiliated with the local hospital because their autocratic ways of hospital management interfere with physician-patient relationships. He’s a devout Christian which IMO explains much of his stance. Plus he understands the political BS that rules hospitals. Being in Fla. helps also.
Now I have another doctor who is the director of his department at the same hospital but due to their covid nazi regs I refuse to comply and so far have been able to have appointments via video conference thus avoiding the fascist environment in the hospital and his office. I even quit answering patient satisfaction surveys the hospital would send after appointments because they would always have a slew of covid questions which I flat out stated were bogus for reasons that have been expounded upon here.
But givien the amount of money big gov and big pharma are throwing at hospitals for covid I agree that things will get worse before any chance of improvement.
