I remember reading John Fund writing about voting fraud in the Wall Street Journal, 30-40 years ago. Long before the internet was around. He was always banging on about it, or so it seemed to me.
I dismissed his concerns as being overblown. Sure, you knew fraud went on in some Municipalities, but I kind of thought it was baked in the cake and probably didn’t affect anything about the super local level.
Then the Tea Party came along and some of those folks wanted to clean up the voter rolls. And then the Dems started screaming blue murder! That was when I realized that this wasn’t just something that happens sometimes and some places. This was their stock-in-trade.
But you are right, it is up to the people who live in these places to deal with this stuff. I’m sure there are plenty of attorneys of color or other smart people in those communities who could have a good effect on things.
It’s good to see these black parents rising up at the school board meetings. I mean, thank G-d really, that people in this country don’t take kindly to being told their children are stupid because they are black!
But that same level of involvement has to happen with election stuff. If only there were some political party that could challenge the Dems and hold them accountable!
