Cleveland...
The armpit of north america...
Actually, it’s probably better than a few cities, like Detroit, but where there seem to be fans of those cities who will defend them none seem willing to defend Cleveland.
For instance, I once fully explained my “the Cleveland of beers” comment to a waiter and he laughed saying it struck too close to home since he was from Cleveland and he had left as soon as he was able.
Just an aside, to root of this beer comment lay in Obama’s beer summit. If you may recall the professor had a Red Stripe, the cop a Blue Moon and Obama a Bud Lite.
Now, normally if someone posted negatively about a personal preference supporters would have been all over them for petty partisanship ... but not even one whisper from the left at Hannity forums. Indeed, there was a general disdain about the selection and nobody stood up for Obama’s beer.
Yet you knew there were Bud Lite drinkers in the conversation, there had to have been, it was just a statistical improbability that there weren’t any given the popularity of the brew.
I remembered this and also other instances and eventually I realized it….
It’s the beer no one stand up for.
It’s the Cleveland of Beers.
